Re: Comments by Citizens' Committee to Save Our Canyons ("SOC") on the Draft Environmental Impact Statement for the Snowbird Master Development Plan

Dear Dan:

SOC thanks you for this opportunity to comment on the Draft Environmental Impact Statement ("DEIS") for the proposed Snowbird Master Development Plan ("MDP"). We appreciate the Forest Service's continuing efforts to elicit meaningful public participation in the agency's decision affecting the National Forest.
The decisions that the Forest Service must ultimately make on the proposed Snowbird Master Development Plan are weighty. As a result, we have included a discussion of the context and overall effect of the proposal prior to our detailed comments on the DEIS itself.
