Study Finds Mercury in Mountains
The Salt Lake Tribune December 15, 1999.  U.S. Geological Survey researchers found small but distinctly elevated levels of mercury in snow in the Wasatch Range, indicating industries in the Salt Lake City metropolitan area are emitting the toxic metal, which can cause brain damage and other health troubles.
