Adopt-A-Highway Big Cottonwood Canyon Clean-Up

It's time again for SOC's annual Adopt-A-Highway event in Big Cottonwood Canyon. Our next Big Cottonwood Canyon Clean-Up will take place on Sunday, July 6th. For this event, you will want to dress in long pants and shirt and be sure to bring work gloves, sturdy boots, a pack to carry at least a quart of water, and snacks, as well as sunscreen, and sunglasses.  To learn more or to volunteer, please contact David Andrenyak at andrenyakda@netscape.net

Wildflower and Geology Hikes

Bill Gray has generously offered to lead a fascinating Wildflower Hike again this summer. On the morning of August 9th, 2008 he will lead a hike and share information about several species of flora that are very extraordinary to the Wasatch. Bill Parry, Professor Emeritus of Geology and Geophysics, University of Utah, will lead his annual Geology Hike on the morning of August 23, 2008 to Catherine Pass from Brighton. Trail Work

Save Our Canyons, the Wasatch Mountain Club, and the Forest Service are excited to be gearing up for another summer of trail work!  Join us on the second Saturday of each summer month at the Park and Ride of Big Cottonwood Canyon at 8:00am for a day of helping your Wasatch Trails.  We will meet at the Park and Ride at 8:00 am, then carpool to our location where we will do trail work until about 3:00pm.

Be sure to wear long pants and shirt, good boots, and sturdy work gloves. Bring a day pack with snacks, sunscreen, bug repellent, at least 2 qts. of water, an extra warm shirt, and rain gear if appropriate.
